Novadip reaches a key milestone towards Phase 3
Moving from research to market is a particularly demanding journey for any biotech. Novadip Biosciences has just reached another major milestone by securing €10.4 million in convertible financing. The goal: to complete the pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial of NVD003.
Developed by the Walloon biotech, NVD003 targets congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia, a rare paediatric disease in which the bone fails to heal properly. The treatment uses the patient’s own stem cells to promote the reconstruction of large bone defects. For some children affected by the disease, the stakes are particularly high: despite multiple surgeries, the condition can ultimately lead to amputation.
Novadip is now entering a particularly strategic stage of its development. Its clinical trial is underway in Europe and the United States, with a regulatory filing planned for late 2027 and a targeted market authorisation in 2028. Only a limited number of Belgian biotechs reach such an advanced stage of clinical development.
The €10.4 million round is led by US investor New Science Ventures, alongside existing investors FundPlus, Wallonie Entreprendre, VIVES Partners, ORSA, Sambrinvest, Noshaq and invest.bw. It brings Novadip’s total financing since June 2025 to €20 million and also unlocks a further tranche of its €18 million European Investment Bank loan.
For Novadip, this is therefore about much more than another funding round. The financing is designed to help a technology developed in Wallonia clear one of the final major clinical hurdles on its journey towards a potential market launch.
